Celebrating excellence at the Bindjareb Awards

Volunteer of the Year award winner with Peel Health Campus Executive Director Kellie Blyth
19/08/2025

Peel Health Campus (PHC) recently hosted its inaugural Bindjareb Awards celebration, recognising the exceptional contributions of staff and volunteers who make PHC a place of excellence, compassion, and community.

Held for the first time since transitioning to the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS), the event brought together colleagues, leaders, and supporters to celebrate achievements across clinical care, patient experience, innovation, partnerships, and staff development. Awards were also presented for long service milestones and team excellence.

Congratulations to the following award recipients:

Excellence in Clinical Care – Jessica Joyce, Emergency Department RN

Excellence in Improving Patient Experience – Palliative Care Team – Dr Margherita Nicoletti, Dr Fiona Findlay, and Diane Sutherland RN

Developing and Engaging Staff – Brenda Wright, Patient Support Services Manager

Excellence in Strengthening Partnerships – Jayeden Quartermaine, Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer

Excellence in Innovation – Physiotherapy Department and Gabriella Miller, Senior Project Officer

Volunteer of the Year – Faye Van Den Bosch

Beli-Beli Award – Erica Huggins, HIMS Manager

The celebration also recognised recipients of the Employee Recognition Awards, as well as 10- and 20-year Long Service Awards.

PHC Executive Director Kellie Blyth said these awards are about recognising the achievements – big and small – that our staff have contributed to serving our patients, colleagues, and community.

“We’re proud to honour those who bring heart and excellence to our hospital every day. These awards are a reflection of that spirit,” Kellie said.

“Their dedication shapes the care we provide and the culture we’re building together.”

Special thanks to event organisers, our catering team, and generous sponsors – Paywise, Health Professionals Bank, and Smart – for helping us celebrate our people in such a meaningful way.

As PHC enters its second year as part of SMHS, the Bindjareb Awards reflect our ongoing commitment to recognising and celebrating the people who make a difference.

Keep up to date with our news and achievements
