Community Board of Advice

Ensuring the consumer voice is heard, acknowledged and valued

Community Board of Advice

Peel Health Campus is committed to working with consumers and carers to ensure the hospital and health services we provide are responsive to the needs of our community.

Our Community Board of Advice (CBOA) provides a structured partnership between consumer and carer representatives and PHC to work towards the shared goal of improving the service and experience for consumers.

It includes consumer, carer and community members and provides consumer advice, direction and advocacy for the planning and delivery of health care provided by PHC.

Some of the ways the CBOA is involved with PHC include:

  • planning, developing and evaluating the health services at our hospital
  • advising on any new initiatives to ensure they will meet the needs of consumers
  • advocating for consumers and community participation
  • facilitating communication and cooperation between our hospital, local service providers and the community.

Become a CBOA member

The CBOA provides an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to your local health services and the consumer and carer experience.

Members of the CBOA will:

  • reflect the diversity of the population within the PHC catchment area, including a diversity of ages, genders and cultural backgrounds
  • have the capacity to participate and engage in the activities of the CBOA.

Being a member of the CBOA involves:

  • meeting monthly at Peel Health Campus
  • sitting on specific committees as a consumer representative
  • providing input and feedback for surveys, policies and plans, and consumer information publications
  • interact with patient to gather real-time feedback for reporting
